I literally can’t say enough about this incredible shake! First off, it’s NOT a protein shake, that’s a huge misconception about Shakeo. It’s actually a super food shake that can be used as a meal replacement (or just as a ridiculously nutritious snack!). Shakeology helps support weight loss and healthy energy, curbs cravings (seriously… I don’t reach for the gummy bears every afternoon anymore!) and also aids in digestion and regularity. Shakeo is touted as “dense nutrition” and it’s so true. Made up of whole food proteins, antioxidants, amino acids, pre and probiotics and so much more, it provides your body SO much nutrition in just one glass! Shakeology comes in various flavors including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cafe latte, greenberry and also vegan options… and they all taste absolutely amazing! Chocolate is hands down my favorite and is literally like drinking a milkshake for breakfast. There’s no weird chalky aftertaste like with other meal replacement or protein shakes. Coming in between 130-170 calories a serving, Shakeology can be a healthy snack during the day, or, if you blend it up with fruit, greens and maybe some nut butter, quickly becomes a crazy nutritious and insanely delicious meal on the go!
3 Day Refresh:
Have you ever come back from vacation and just felt incredibly sluggish? Maybe you were celebrating a friend’s wedding out of town (and drank alllll the champagne) and need a kick start back into your fitness and nutrition routine? For those times when I need a little bit more of a push then what the normal meal plan can give me, the 3 Day Refresh is my go to! It’s three days of seriously clean eats including vegan Shakeology, a vanilla “Fresh” shake and “Fiber Sweep” to help clear things out. The shakes are supplemented with clean foods such as veggies, fruits and whole grains. This isn’t a “detox” like with harsh pills and teas, the Fiber Sweep simply includes extra fiber and the program is centered around getting you back to eating healthy foods. The best thing about the 3 Day Refresh is that it’s just that… THREE days! Trust me, you can do anything for three days, and with how great you’ll feel afterwards you’ll want to do it again!
Beachbody Performance Line:
Performance Line consists of various supplements to help you make the most of your workout! It’s not so much about the nutrition aspect of your journey, but more about getting your body ready to crush a workout and then helping it recover afterwards. Three supplements from this line that are my total favs are Energize, Hydrate and Recover. Energize is a pre-workout powder that you simply mix with water and take about 30 minutes before your workout. It tastes like lemonade and gives you that little boost you need… naturally! Hydrate has the same taste but is designed to be used during your workout to help you sustain your energy and replace the electrolytes that you’re losing through all that sweat! Recover is amazing and is specifically formulated as a post-workout supplement. Mix with water and it tastes like a yummy chocolate shake. It helps your muscles rebuild and aids in reducing soreness so you can jump back in the next day! Recover also comes in orange flavor which I’m told tastes incredible… but I’m such a sucker for chocolate!!
21 Day Fix:
The 21 Day Fix from Autumn Calabrese is three weeks, my go-to program and what got me started with Beachbody in the first place! It’s the whole package… nutrition AND exercise. The focus on nutrition includes portion control and clean eating. The program utilizes color coded containers to help you meal plan for correct portions and urges you to make clean choices when building your meals (think less “low fat” and Lean Cuisines, and more fresh fruits and whole foods). The meal plan is easy to understand and with the focus on prepping, really encourages you to THINK about what you’re putting into your body rather than mindless eating (something I used to struggle with a lot). The exercise portion of the program is centered around daily 30 minute at-home workouts. That’s right, they’re only THIRTY minutes a day and can all be done in the comfort of your own home (my favorite thing about Beachbody programs). The workouts include cardio, weights, pilates and yoga and can be completely modified to fit any fitness level. Overall, the 21 Day Fix is the program that I always recommend to someone just getting started with their health and fitness journey as it will give you literally all of the tools you need to kickstart your weight loss and make a healthy change!
22 Minute Hard Corps:
Ready to take your fitness to the next level… in only 22 minutes a day?? 22 Minute Hard Corps is from Tony Horton and is an eight week, military style bootcamp workout program that gets you in shape working out with real veterans in the comfort of your living room. Made up of Cardio, Resistance and Core, these workouts are short but insanely effective. One of my favorite things about 22 Minute Hard Corps is that the moves are FUN! Don’t think you’re going to do normal squats and pushups… think instead of mountain squats, gorilla crawls and water bugs! Each move targets multiple muscle groups and even the resistance workouts will get your lungs into serious shape. Minimal equipment is required, dumbbells and a pull up bar and you’re ready for an amazing 22 minutes!
If you’re looking for a program that requires zero equipment and will make you want to throw up at the end of each round, then Insanity Max:30 is for you! From Shaun T (I absolutely love this guy y’all), this program is eight weeks and an insane cardio workout every day! The workouts are only 30 minutes in length and again, all you need is your own body weight. This is not a beginner program! I repeat… this is NOT a beginner program! IM:30 is intense but will absolutely kick your booty into shape! Like with 22 Minute Hard Corps, don’t think you’re getting off easy with push-ups and lunges… you’ll be doing plyo moves for the majority of the workouts as well as standing and sitting abs. Is it hard? Yep. Is it worth it? Abso-freaking-lutely.
